Safety Harbor Museum

Take a trip back in time the Safety Harbor Museum, located at 329 S. Bayshore Blvd., in downtown Safety Harbor.  You will see ancient Indian tools and pottery.  Learn about Odet Philippe who homesteaded in Pinellas County in 1821, where Philippe Park is today.  He planted a variety of citrus and other fruit products, all of which he had acquired during his time in the Caribbean.  He established the first post-colonial commercial grove in the relatively unsettled territory of Florida.  You will see photos of downtown Main Street from the early 1900’s and items of our past.  Be sure to stop in the Boot Ranch room and see the items and photos of a time when horses and bulls roamed the area of East Lake Woodlands and Boot Ranch today.
